Ramadan Kareem to you and your families, as we are lucky enough to meet the month of Ramadan yet again! With its endless blessings and divine wisdom, this month is a gift to us all.

It is up to us, one donation and contribution at a time, to help relieve suffering and reduce health disparities. It is our responsibility to fulfill our Zakat with generosity, as an obligatory form of charity that has the potential to ease the suffering of millions.

Through MedGlobal, your Zakat has the power to provide life-sustaining health services to refugees, displaced families, and marginalized communities in Yemen, Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and beyond.

Your Zakat Saves Lives

Health Care in Yemen

In Yemen, 19.7 million people lack the health services they need. Famine is closing in on the country, and millions of children face severe acute malnutrition. Less than half of the pre-war health facilities are functioning. We’re working to provide mobile health services in Yemen, reaching those who need access to health care the most.

Gaza Emergency Response

In Gaza, the blockade and year of conflict has created a vulnerable and besieged population. We support the pediatrics ICU department of a local hospital in Gaza. This emergency pediatrics department is critical, particularly as the people in Gaza are cut off from external healthcare. Heroic health providers have saved the lives of hundreds of children facing medical emergencies.

Syria in Crisis

In Syria, the devastating crisis has hit its tenth year. The conflict has led to over 500,000 deaths and displaced nearly 13 million people from their homes, leading to the world’s largest displacement crisis. MedGlobal has built 2 oxygen generators in northwest Syria, covering the oxygen needs of over 1 million people. This helps babies struggling to breathe in neonatal units, patients with COVID-19, and those with critical health emergencies.

Refugee Response in Lebanon

In Lebanon, the country is still recovering from the devastating Beirut port explosion. Lebanon also remains the country with the largest number of refugees per capita in the world. In collaboration with local partners, we support Syrian and Palestinian refugees with critically needed services, including checkups, dental care, and medication for illnesses. We also have supported 15 hospitals in Lebanon with the most critical medications and supplies following the Beirut port explosion, so that they could once again serve their communities.

Syria

This Ramadan we want to give the gift of hope and help heal millions of refugees and vulnerable people suffering due to healthcare disparities. With the worsening health crises around the world, the MedGlobal team is working very hard to help bring your support to families in dire need.

Your donations this month are powerful. Your Zakat will not only fulfill charitable obligations, but it will also provide life-sustaining health services to refugees and help relieve a little of their burden.
