Supporting COVID-19 Healthcare for the Navajo Nation Residents
MedGlobal is supporting the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF), a 60 bed hospital which serves as the health care hub for the Navajo Nation. We are recruiting nurse volunteers, who are urgently needed to staff the hospital, and fundraising for medical supplies and equipment that are critical to treat COVID-19 patients and prevent the spread of the virus to other patients and CCHCF staff. The Navajo Nation has one of the highest rates of COVID-19 infection in the United States.
Supporting COVID-19 Community Testing
MedGlobal is helping Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) to launch a much-needed drive-through community testing site in Chicago, which is a COVID-19 hotspot city. We are recruiting doctor and nurse volunteers to staff the testing site and fundraising for PPE and other critical medical supplies. IMAN is a nonprofit community organization that fosters health, wellness and healing in the inner city by organizing for social change, cultivating the arts, and operating a holistic health center. IMAN’s work has been recognized by former President Barack Obama.
Supporting Vulnerable and Marginalized Communities
MedGlobal is seeking ventilators, medical equipment and supplies for immediate use at safety-net hospitals, such as Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, as marginalized communities are being hit hardest by COVID-19. Saint Anthony Hospital is an independent, non-profit, community hospital that primarily treats medically-underserved communities of immigrants, people of color, and those facing economic hardship.
