Dr. Thaer Ahmad

Thaer Ahmad, MD is a board certified emergency medicine physician. He earned his medical degree from Rush in 2014 and completed his specialty training at St. John Hospital in Detroit in 2017. Since then, Dr. Ahmad has been a part of Advocate Christ Medical Center’s medical staff, serving as an attending physician in the emergency department.

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Ahmad holds the position of Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Advocate Christ. He also serves as the Global Health Director for the emergency department at Advocate Christ.

Dr. Ahmad’s involvement in medical education extends to his role as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Chicago. Furthermore, he has furthered his knowledge and skills by completing courses such as the ICRC Health Emergencies in Large Populations program at Johns Hopkins and the Humanitarian Response Intensive Course offered by the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Dr. Ahmad has volunteered with MedGlobal since 2021, and has a dedicated interest in the application of point of care ultrasound in resource limited settings and local healthcare capacity building.
