Alfredo J Mena-Lora, MD, FACP is an infectious diseases specialist and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He practices at the University of Illinois Hospital and at Saint Anthony Hospital, where he leads infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship. He enjoys working with underserved communities in Chicago and abroad. Dr Mena-Lora has a passion for teaching residents, fellows and students and serves as Program Director for the Infectious Diseases fellowship program at UIC and Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine at Saint Anthony Hospital. His research interests include infection prevention, antimicrobial use and resistance in the United States and internationally. He is an active member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
